Hazards

1. There are no easy/safe landing options behind the ridge – don't lose position behind launch;

2. A fence behind launch, and trees in front of the ridge N of launch can make top landings tricky;

3. A pair of Wedgetail Eagles live on the hill - they are friendly to date.

4. Landing in the paddock below launch has various animal holes, star pickets and rotor from the sea-side trees and small cliffs in strong conditions

5. When strong wind, the lift band may extend out over the water making it very difficult to land on the lower grass paddock. Care should be taken to land early before it gets strong or find an alternative beach landing. The dedicated beach landing is at Roaches beach near the yatch club. When attempting beach landing, crab over the water and figure of 8 back towards the beach. Do not attempt to follow the terrain to Roaches beach as forward speed may be limited making reaching the beach difficult.

6. North launch rotor may be present if trying to launch from the NE with any East in the wind. Landing on seven miles beach in too much North can give a turbulent landing on the beach as the wind is coming from the houses and pine trees. Alternative landing on paddocks would be advised if landing with North wind.
